Two-time All-Pro safety Budda Baker has signed a three-year contract extension with the Arizona Cardinals, ensuring his presence with the team through the 2027 season. The deal, finalized on Tuesday, is valued at $54 million, with $30 million guaranteed, as reported by NFL Network and ESPN.
At 28 years old, Baker has been a cornerstone of the Cardinals’ defense since being drafted in the second round out of Washington in 2017. He is currently enjoying another strong season, having started all 14 games and ranking second in the NFL with 142 tackles.
Over his eight seasons in the league, Baker has established himself as a leading force among defensive backs, amassing a total of 861 tackles, including 600 solo stops.
Head coach Jonathan Gannon has consistently praised Baker’s contributions to the team, noting his leadership as a captain for the past five seasons. With Baker’s previous contract set to expire at the end of this season, his future with the franchise had become a significant topic of discussion among fans and analysts alike.
