The loss, which extended Wolves’ losing streak to four matches, led to heated exchanges on the pitch. Defender Rayan Ait-Nouri received a second yellow card after the final whistle and was escorted down the tunnel by teammate Craig Dawson. Brazilian striker Matheus Cunha, who scored Wolves’ only goal, was also involved in a scuffle.

Earlier this week, midfielder Mario Lemina clashed with West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen and later with a member of his own coaching staff following Wolves’ 2-1 defeat at the Olympic Stadium. Lemina had been stripped of the captaincy just days prior.

“The dressing room is a difficult place to be at this moment,” said Wolves midfielder Tommy Doyle. “We need to be honest with each other and understand why we aren’t securing three points. Honest conversations are essential.”

The pressure is mounting on manager Gary O’Neil, as the loss leaves Wolves in second-to-last place, four points adrift of safety. “We are under a lot of pressure,” O’Neil acknowledged. “I understand the players’ emotions, but we must maintain better control.”O’Neil added that he would address the Ait-Nouri incident internally.
