The Detroit Lions’ thrilling 34-31 comeback win against the Green Bay Packers last Thursday night drew an average of 17.29 million viewers, marking it as the most-streamed NFL regular-season game ever. This game also became Amazon Prime Video’s most-watched since it began exclusively broadcasting the prime-time package in 2022.
Nielsen reports that viewership peaked at 18.87 million during the first half of the game, specifically from 9:15 to 9:30 p.m. EST, setting a new high for the platform.
The previous record for “Thursday Night Football on Prime” was 16.23 million viewers, achieved during the Dallas Cowboys’ 20-15 victory over the New York Giants on September 26. So far this season, “Thursday Night Football on Prime” has averaged 13.61 million viewers, reflecting a 9% increase compared to last year’s average at this time and a 15% rise over the full-season average of 11.86 million from the previous year.
