LeBron James Moves to 7th in 3-Pointers Made

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James made history Wednesday night by surpassing Kyle Korver for seventh place on the NBA’s all-time 3-pointers made list during the Lakers’ 134–93 loss to the Miami Heat.

James achieved this milestone with a straightaway jumper early in the third quarter, marking his only three-pointer of the game. He finished the night with 29 points, five rebounds, and eight assists, as the Lakers fell to a record of 12-10. James had tied Korver’s career mark in the previous game against the San Antonio Spurs. In response to being surpassed, Korver sent a lighthearted text to TNT’s Jared Greenberg, saying, “Took you long enough.”

Throughout his remarkable 22-season career, James has evolved from a subpar outside shooter to a more efficient long-range scorer. This improvement, coupled with his longevity as an elite player, has allowed him to make significant contributions in statistical categories that are often overshadowed by his scoring (first) and assists (fourth) records.

This achievement adds to an impressive year for James, who earlier became the first player in NBA history to play alongside his son, Bronny James. Additionally, he won his third Olympic gold medal this summer, earning MVP honors in the tournament.
