In her season debut, star opposite Paola Egonu led Numia Vero Volley Milano to a 3-1 victory against Cda Volley Talmassons Fvg on Sunday, marking their eighth win in the 2024-2025 Lega Volley Femminile Serie A1 Tigotà. Milano remains in pursuit of league leaders Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano, who currently hold a five-point advantage with 27 points compared to Milano’s 22. The two teams are set to clash next weekend, which could narrow the gap to just two points.
Egonu’s return was a highlight for Milano, as she had missed the first seven matches of the season due to surgery. Playing all four sets, she showcased her full recovery by contributing a match-high 19 points, including 17 kills, one block, and one ace. Dutch outside hitter, who also scored 19 points (17 kills, two blocks), was named the match’s MVP. Olympic champions Miriam Sylla and Anna Danesi added 15 and 13 points, respectively.
“Today, the most important thing was getting the three points back home,” said middle blocker Laura Heyrman. “We are coming from a few consecutive road matches, and the players are feeling tired. It was great that we got the result.” Talmassons’ standout performers included Russian outside hitter Yana Shcherban with 15 points, and Greek outside hitter Olga Strantzali and middle blocker Alexandra Botezat, each contributing 14 points.
