The match, scheduled for 4 p.m., will feature Hong Kong versus Brazil. It marks the second test event at the 5,000-seat venue, following a local football league game held there last month.

Sports Commissioner George Tsoi expects more than 3,000 spectators to attend the rugby match, which is double the number present at the football event.

“We will gradually increase the scale and intensity of these test events at the Kai Tak Sports Park,” Tsoi said. “Each time, we’ll raise the number of participants.”

Tsoi also noted that the authorities plan to enhance safety and crowd management. This includes larger directional signs and more gates with metal detectors at the venue.

In addition to the rugby match, Tsoi mentioned that the government will host a trial event at an indoor venue next month, with another planned for the 50,000-seat main stadium in January.
