In the Region 6 volleyball tournament’s second bracket, top-seeded Surrey from District 11 took on Rugby (District 12’s fourth seed), while Our Redeemer’s (District 12’s second seed) faced Bottineau (District 11’s third seed).
Surrey won their match against Rugby 3-1. Rugby had moments of dominance, like in the second set, but Surrey bounced back strongly, winning key sets and ultimately the match. Makya Gerding, Kenzie Neighbors, and others had notable contributions for the Mustangs. Rugby’s Lacie Deplazes and Jesse Wolf also shone. Surrey now advances to the semifinals at Minot Municipal Auditorium.
Our Redeemer’s triumphed over Bottineau 3-0. The Knights maintained their lead in the first two sets and overcame a challenge in the third to seal the victory. Mikayla Altringer, Grace Olson, and others played key roles for Our Redeemer’s. Kyra Beckman led Bottineau’s efforts. Our Redeemer’s will also head to the semifinals, where they’ll face Surrey tonight.
