The New York Jets suffered a 31 – 6 defeat at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, reflecting on the loss, noted that the team had fallen short. “I thought after a big win Thursday night and a long week, we’d come out with energy and win. But we didn’t have great energy on either side of the ball,” Rodgers said postgame.
The 3 – 7 Jets had shown some promise with an encouraging second half last Thursday to beat the Houston Texans and end a five – game losing streak. However, against the Cardinals, their offense struggled mightily. They couldn’t score any touchdowns, with Rodgers completing 22 of 35 pass attempts for just 151 yards, while being overshadowed by Arizona’s Kyle Murray who had an impressive outing with 22 – for – 24 passing for 266 yards and a touchdown, along with two rushing touchdowns.
Star receiver Davante Adams echoed Rodgers’ sentiment regarding the team’s performance. “I don’t think we had the energy we’ve had the last two weeks. We could definitely be better there,” Adams stated. Looking ahead, the Jets will take on the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11 before entering a bye week, hoping to turn things around and regain their form.
