The NJSIAA has released the boys and girls soccer brackets, revealing that both Hasbrouck Heights and Wood-Ridge will host opening games in the tournament.
However, fans should note that, unlike in football, the teams will not meet in the playoffs. Each team is in a different bracket.
In the boys’ bracket, Wood-Ridge, the sixth seed in North 2, Group 1, will host Verona on Tuesday, November 5, at the Wood-Ridge Athletic Complex. Wood-Ridge ended the season with a 13-7-1 record, while Verona, the tenth seed, finished at 8-6-2. The game is scheduled for 4:15 p.m.
The Hasbrouck Heights boys will compete as the eighth seed in the North 1, Group 1 bracket, facing ninth-seeded Kinnelon. Hasbrouck Heights concluded their season with an 8-6-1 record, while Kinnelon finished at 7-7-3. This match will also take place at home on Tuesday at Hitchcock Field, starting at 2 p.m.
On the girls’ side, the Wood-Ridge/Wallington co-op team is the eighth seed in North 1, Group 2, after finishing the season with a record of 12-8. They will face ninth-seeded Northern Valley Demarest, who recorded an 8-9-1 season. This game is set for Monday, November 4, at 4:15 p.m. at the Wood-Ridge Athletic Complex.
The Hasbrouck Heights girls team, seeded fourth in North 2, Group 1, finished with a record of 12-6. They will host 13th-seeded Belvidere, which finished the season at 11-6-1, on Monday, November 4, at 2 p.m. at Hitchcock Field.
