West Ham United announced on Tuesday that captain Jarrod Bowen will be out indefinitely due to a fractured left foot. The injury occurred during Sunday’s match against Premier League leaders Liverpool, where the team suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat. Bowen was substituted in the second half after sustaining the injury in the first half at the London Stadium.“The injury to his left foot will sideline the Hammers captain heading into the New Year,” the club stated.
Bowen has been instrumental for West Ham this season, contributing six goals across all competitions. He took to Instagram to share his thoughts on the injury, stating that he attempted to continue playing despite the pain.
“As always, I tried to fight on and continue playing until I physically couldn’t,” Bowen wrote. “Injuries happen in football, but I’m already looking forward to getting back out there as soon as possible. See you all soon.”
