Club WAMCO has triumphed in the National Volleyball League Women’s Division, defeating Police Club in an exciting five-set match at the Social Centre.
Both teams entered the final undefeated, but WAMCO secured the title with a 3-2 victory. The final set was closely contested, with WAMCO edging out Police Club 15-13.
The match showcased fierce competition. Police Club took the first set 25-23, but WAMCO responded by winning the second set 25-17. Police Club then fought back, claiming the third set 25-23. WAMCO regained their momentum, winning the fourth set 25-21.
In the decisive final set, WAMCO jumped to an early lead. Although Police Club made a strong effort to catch up, they could not surpass WAMCO.
Inna Yakovleva from Uzbekistan, representing WAMCO, was named the best player of the match and the best foreign player of the tournament. Fathimath Juzaan Zareer, also from WAMCO, received both the best player of the tournament and the best setter awards.
Police Club’s Maya Hussain Solah was honored as the most promising player, while Ahmed Adeel (Beybe) from WAMCO was recognized as the best coach of the tournament.
