Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts played a pivotal role in Game 1 of the NLCS on Sunday. He hit a bases-clearing double that helped seal a dominant 9-0 win against the New York Mets. Betts ended the game with one hit in four at-bats, along with a walk, a double, a run scored, and three RBIs. Remarkably, he was the only player in the game to achieve an extra-base hit, despite the teams combining for 12 hits.
At 32 years old, Betts has been strong in the postseason, recording two home runs, six RBIs, and an OPS of .891 over 22 at-bats. He will aim to continue his success against pitcher Sean Manaea in Game 2 on Monday.
