Abhinav Thakur of the Indian Railways won the gold medal at the World Railways Badminton Championship in Poland.
This victory adds to Abhinav’s impressive list of accomplishments, reinforcing his status as one of the top badminton players in his state.
Abhinav, who hails from Jalandhar, has been the state champion for three consecutive years and currently holds the top ranking in Punjab. His success is not limited to national competitions; he has also earned multiple medals at various levels, both nationally and internationally. Earlier this year, he claimed gold at the Inter-Railway Badminton Championship in Gorakhpur and at the Central Zone Badminton Championship in Hyderabad.
His father, Sudarshan Singh, expressed pride in his son’s achievements. “His hard work and dedication to the sport have brought him here. We are proud of him for not only winning the championships but also for representing our country on an international platform,” he said.
Abhinav is known for his agility and precision on the court. His consistent performances have earned him recognition across India, making him a formidable opponent in badminton circles.
“This gold at the World Railways Championship marks another milestone in his impressive career, further boosting his prospects on the international stage,” his father added.
