The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) has not yet decided on a new head coach. Acting president Datuk V. Subramaniam confirmed this in a statement to Bernama, saying, “We have not made any final decisions. That’s it.”
Rexy Mainaky, the coaching director at Akademi Badminton Malaysia (ABM), mentioned that BAM has finalized an agreement with the new head coach for the singles team. This comes after the departure of national men’s singles coach Hendrawan, who served for 15 years.
The incoming head coach is expected to lead both the men’s and women’s singles teams at ABM.
BAM has recently restructured its coaching staff. Alvin Chew and K. Yogendran have been appointed as senior team coaches, while Datuk Tey Seu Bock will lead the junior team, assisted by Goh Giap Chin.
In the women’s singles department, Jeffer Rosobin and Misbun Ramdan will manage the senior team, while Aaron Lee will oversee the junior squad, with Sylvia Kavita as the junior coach.
