The San Francisco Giants delivered a powerful performance on Tuesday night, defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks 11-0. Michael Conforto and Brett Wisely each hit three-run homers during a six-run third inning, marking the Giants’ fifth consecutive win against playoff contenders.
Recently, the Giants have excelled as spoilers, boasting a 7-1 record against teams like Baltimore, Kansas City, and Arizona. They showcased their hitting prowess by belting five home runs against the Diamondbacks, including three off pitcher Brandon Pfaadt (10-10) in the early innings.
“Things happen like this and it gets contagious,” said Giants manager Bob Melvin. “You start playing well and you just feel like you’ve got a chance to win.”
Patrick Bailey initiated the scoring with a solo homer in the second inning. Conforto followed with his 20th homer in the third, and Wisely’s three-run shot expanded the lead to 7-0. Tyler Fitzgerald added a two-run homer, while Heliot Ramos contributed a solo shot among his four hits. Logan Webb (13-10) pitched six scoreless innings, allowing just four hits.
