Somebody Cares New England, a nonprofit organization focused on assisting low-income families, will host a “Basketball & BBQ” event featuring former Harlem Globetrotter Melvin Adams.
The event is free and welcomes Haverhill residents of all ages. However, children aged 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Attendees can enjoy a barbecue, basketball, volleyball, games, and cotton candy. They will also have the chance to meet Adams, who inspires both youth and adults through his mentorship and humor.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, September 24, from 4 to 6 p.m. at 358 Washington St., Haverhill. It will take place rain or shine.
