Real Madrid players Aurelien Tchouameni and Ferland Mendy have been ruled out of France’s upcoming Nations League matches due to injuries, according to coach Didier Deschamps.
Tchouameni, a defensive midfielder, is dealing with a foot injury, while Mendy, a defender, has suffered a shin injury. Both players featured in Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory over Real Betis on Sunday, with Mendy being substituted in the second half.
To fill their spots, France has called up Lazio midfielder Matteo Guendouzi and Aston Villa left-back Lucas Digne. France is set to face Italy on Friday at the Parc des Princes and will play Belgium three days later in Lyon.
