The North Dakota State soccer team concluded their three-game trip to the Honolulu area with a 4-1 loss to Hawaii on Sunday evening at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.
Hawaii struck first, taking the lead with a goal in the 10th minute. North Dakota State (3-2-1) quickly responded in the 21st minute when freshman Morgan scored her third goal of the season, assisted by Devon Kavanagh.
Despite outshooting Hawaii 9-5 in the first half, the Bison couldn’t hold off their opponents. Hawaii regained the lead in the 35th minute and carried a 2-1 advantage into halftime.
In the second half, Hawaii took control, outshooting NDSU 8-3. They added two goals within 65 seconds, scoring in the 63rd and 64th minutes to secure the victory.
Hawaii finished the match with a slight edge in shots, 13-12, and led 7-4 in corner kicks.
The Bison will return home to face Idaho State on September 8 at Dacotah Field. The match is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. and will be televised on WDAY Xtra.
