Fingal’s much-anticipated Sports Festival is set to take place this Saturday, August 24th, at Malahide Castle & Gardens, celebrating Team Ireland’s outstanding performance at the 2024 Olympics. Organized by Fingal’s Sports Office, the event is free to attend and promises a day full of activities aimed at getting people active and honoring the achievements of Ireland’s Olympians, including several athletes from Fingal who competed in Paris.
The festival, which starts at midday, is open to everyone, regardless of fitness level. It features a variety of interactive “come and try” sessions hosted by national and local sports organizations, including Orienteering Ireland, Golf Ireland, Irish Sailing, Weightlifting Ireland, Cricket Leinster, Olympic Handball Ireland, and Table Tennis Ireland.
In addition to these sessions, attendees can engage with demonstrations and activities from a wide range of sports bodies, including Swim Ireland, Cycling Ireland, Rowing Ireland, Diving Ireland, Hockey Ireland, Basketball Ireland, Pentathlon Ireland, and many others. The festival offers something for everyone, with a comprehensive selection of sports for enthusiasts of all ages.
Beyond the sporting events, the festival also includes a variety of family-friendly activities designed to entertain attendees of all ages. Highlights include FUNdamentals Activities, Tug of War Fun, Relay Obstacle Courses, and a dedicated Toddler Play Area. Inflatable Targets and Games will add to the festive atmosphere, ensuring a day full of enjoyment for all.
After participating in the activities, guests can unwind in a dedicated Picnic Area. Throughout the day, Fingal Sports Office representatives will be on hand to share information about local initiatives promoting active, healthy lifestyles.
