Norwich City forward Abu Kamara has officially requested a transfer, seeking to leave Carrow Road before the transfer window closes next week. The 21-year-old has attracted interest from Hull City and Portsmouth.
Kamara spent last season on loan with Portsmouth, where he played a pivotal role in helping the team secure the League One title, scoring 10 goals in 52 appearances under manager John Mousinho. This season, Kamara has made substitute appearances in Norwich’s first two Championship games and found the net during their 4-3 Carabao Cup victory over Stevenage. He has one year remaining on his contract, with an option for a further 12 months.
The situation adds to the challenges facing Norwich’s sporting director Ben Knapper and head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup. The club is also dealing with forward Jonathan Rowe’s refusal to play in their opening Championship match—a 2-0 loss to Oxford—amid ongoing bids from Marseille.
Additionally, Norwich recently sold striker Adam Idah to Celtic for £9.5 million. However, the transfer followed disciplinary action against Idah after he missed a pre-season team flight to Austria, joining the squad late.
In response to these developments, Norwich is reportedly close to securing Croatian striker Ante Crnac from Polish side Rakow Częstochowa. The 20-year-old, who scored eight goals in 26 matches last season, is expected to be a direct replacement for Idah.
