The Georgian underdogs, buoyed by their passionate supporters clad in white and draped with national flags, stunned Spain early with a fortuitous own goal off Robin Le Normand. Riding high from their earlier upset victory over Portugal, Georgia sought to extend their surprising tournament journey.
However, Spain swiftly regained composure and control, leveling the score before halftime with a precise finish from Rodri. The Spaniards continued to press forward in the second half, with Fabian Ruiz heading home a Yamal cross to take the lead. Nico Williams added a third with a powerful strike, effectively ending any hopes of a Georgian comeback. Substitute Dani Olmo sealed the victory with a late goal, completing Spain’s commanding performance.
