Top seed Taylor Fritz continued his dominant run at the Rothesay International, defeating Chinese qualifier Juncheng Shang 7-6 (5), 7-6 (5) in the quarterfinals held in Eastbourne, England. Fritz, aiming for his third Rothesay International title after previous wins in 2019 and 2022, showcased exceptional serving prowess by winning 92.6 percent of his first-serve points and firing 20 aces. He also demonstrated strong resilience by saving all four break points he faced, securing the match in one hour and 46 minutes.
In the semifinals, Fritz will face Australian lucky loser Aleksandar Vukic, who advanced with a hard-fought 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (5) victory over Japanese qualifier Yoshihito Nishioka. Meanwhile, British wild card Billy Harris overcame Italy’s Flavio Cobolli 6-7 (3), 7-6 (4), 6-2 and will meet Australian qualifier Max Purcell, who defeated Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic 6-3, 7-6 (4).
