Blackmon’s impactful display saw him hitting a home run, doubling twice, and driving in four runs, while the Rockies capitalized on a six-run fourth inning to secure the win. This defeat marked the end of the Guardians’ impressive streak, their longest since their 22-game winning run in 2017.
The Rockies faced adversity early on as their original starter, Austin Gomber, was sidelined due to arm soreness. However, Anthony Molina stepped in, only to be replaced after 1 2/3 innings. Josh Rogers, whose contract was selected before the game, stepped up, allowing two runs and four hits in five innings.
