Donovan Mitchell Likely to Sit Out Game 5 Against Celtics Due to Calf Strain

Cleveland Cavaliers star guard Donovan Mitchell is expected to miss Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Boston Celtics due to a left calf strain, according to a report from The Athletic. Mitchell, who is officially listed as questionable, also sat out Game 4, which resulted in a 109-102 loss for the Cavaliers. Cleveland currently trails the series 3-1.

Mitchell has been a key player for the Cavaliers during the postseason, averaging an impressive 29.6 points per game over the team’s first 10 playoff games. In the regular season, he contributed 26.6 points per contest. Alongside scoring, Mitchell has been effective in rebounding and playmaking, averaging 5.4 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game in the playoffs.
