The Buffalo Bills have officially signed wide receiver Quintez Cephus, who was recently reinstated from a gambling suspension, according to announcements made by the player’s agents on Sunday. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Cephus, 26, was originally a fifth-round pick by the Detroit Lions in the 2020 NFL Draft. During his tenure with the Lions from 2020 to 2022, he recorded 37 receptions for 568 yards and four touchdowns across 22 games, including six starts.
In April 2023, Cephus was released by the Lions following an indefinite suspension for violating the league’s gambling policy. However, the NFL reinstated Cephus and four other players from their gambling-related bans just last week.
Upon signing with the Bills, Cephus expressed his gratitude on social media, posting, “Thank you God,” along with the hashtag BillsMafia.
