Gillingham manager Stephen Clemence is determined to spoil the party for the nearly 1,500 Rovers fans expected to make the journey to Kent for their sold-out away allocation.
As the season nears its end, Clemence is focused on sending the home supporters off happy for the summer in their final match. Despite their slim play-off hopes coming to an end last weekend, Clemence’s aim is to provide the fans with something to look forward to in the next season.
“We have one game left, it’s a home game, and let’s try and send our supporters off happy for the summer,” said Clemence.
Facing Doncaster at home presents a challenge, with the visitors having something to play for. Clemence emphasized the importance of finishing the season on a high note, aiming to secure the best possible position in the league standings and give the home supporters a reason to celebrate.
“Doncaster are a good team with a good manager. I know Grant (McCann) very well, and he has done well for a number of years,” Clemence acknowledged. “I look forward to taking him on. Yes, I might know him, but I will be wanting to win, and he will be wanting to win, and that’s what it is all about.”
Clemence is already eyeing the next season but remains focused on ending this campaign positively against Rovers, ensuring that Gillingham finishes with pride and enthusiasm.
