Sandoval, renowned for his contributions to the Giants’ championship triumphs in 2010, 2012, and 2014, including earning the MVP title during the 2012 World Series, was signed to a minor league contract in February. However, his aspirations to secure a spot on the major league roster for the first time since 2021 were dashed as he fell short during spring training.
The 37-year-old infielder, affectionately nicknamed the “Kung Fu Panda,” left an indelible mark on Giants history, particularly with his remarkable performance in the 2012 World Series, where he smashed three home runs in Game 1 against the Detroit Tigers and six overall throughout the postseason.
