The turnaround was completed with a decisive header from Ricardo Pepi, securing a comeback victory for PSV and propelling them to second place in Group B with eight points.

This victory secured PSV Eindhoven’s spot in the knockout stage, as group leaders Arsenal further solidified their standing by thrashing third-placed Lens 6-0 later that day. With five points and an inferior head-to-head record, Lens is now unable to catch up with PSV.

Sevilla, rooted at the bottom of the group with two points, now shifts their focus to securing a Europa League berth by finishing third. The seven-time Europa League winners, facing a challenging run of form with just one win in their last 12 matches across all competitions, are set to clash with Lens in their final group match, aiming to surpass them in the standings.

Reflecting on the game, Sevilla’s Sergio Ramos admitted, “We had a favorable result after dominating the first half, but going a man down killed us and they took advantage of it,” speaking to Movistar Plus. The loss adds another layer of challenge for Sevilla as they navigate their way through the remainder of the group stage.
