Despite Bogdan Bogdanovic’s season-high 28 points for the Hawks and a strong performance from Jalen Johnson (18 points, 4-for-4 from 3-point range), Atlanta couldn’t maintain consistency. The Knicks, trailing by seven points with 5:20 left in the fourth quarter, closed the game with a 22-13 run. Julius Randle’s layup with 43 seconds remaining secured a 112-110 lead for New York. After a free throw split by Atlanta’s Trae Young, Brunson sank a crucial jumper, sealing the victory for the Knicks.
RJ Barrett’s absence, due to migraines, didn’t hinder the Knicks as Randle led the team with 16 first-half points. The Knicks and Hawks will next face off on March 5 in New York.
