Swiss Indoors, Basel – World number two and rising tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has been forced to withdraw from the upcoming Swiss Indoors championships due to injury, dealing a setback to his aspirations of closing in on the top spot in the ATP rankings, currently held by Novak Djokovic. Djokovic is set to participate in the Paris Masters starting on October 30.
Organizers released a statement confirming Alcaraz’s withdrawal, attributing it to an injury. According to the doctor’s report, the 20-year-old Alcaraz is suffering from an inflammation of the sole of his left foot along with issues in his gluteal muscles.
This news follows Alcaraz’s round of 16 loss to Grigor Dimitrov at the Shanghai Masters earlier this month. The talented two-time Grand Slam champion’s focus now shifts to his recovery and rehabilitation as he aims to return to the tennis court in full form. Tennis enthusiasts and fans of Alcaraz will be eager to see him back in action once he has made a complete recovery.
