Marketa Vondrousova, Karolina Muchova, and Ons Jabeur Secure Spots in WTA Finals

Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova has officially secured her place in the upcoming WTA Finals, a prestigious season-ending tournament that features the top players in women’s tennis. Joining her in the competition are French Open runner-up Karolina Muchova and Tunisian world number seven Ons Jabeur, as confirmed by the women’s tennis governing body on Friday.

These three talented players will complete the lineup for the WTA Finals, which will take place in Cancun, Mexico. The tournament will showcase the top eight singles players and doubles teams in the world and marks a return to Mexico after a one-year gap. The 2021 edition of the event was held in Guadalajara.

The already-qualified participants for the WTA Finals include world number one Aryna Sabalenka, four-time major champion Iga Swiatek, U.S. Open champion Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina, and Jessica Pegula.

Notably, Gauff and world number four Pegula will not only compete in the singles event but will also team up for the doubles competition, adding to the excitement of the tournament.

Elena Rybakina, a former Wimbledon champion, will be the first player from Kazakhstan to qualify for the singles event at the WTA Finals.
