After a relatively uneventful first half, the Czech Republic broke the deadlock in the 56th minute. Captain Tomas Soucek showcased his dribbling skills as he penetrated the box and delivered a pass to Cerny, who fired a left-footed shot past the goalkeeper. A VAR check confirmed the goal’s validity.
The home side continued to apply pressure, but Albania responded with determination. Ten minutes later, Bajrami seized an opportunity after Alex Kral lost possession just outside the penalty area. Bajrami’s shot found the top corner of the net, leveling the score.
With this result, the Czech Republic maintains its lead in Group E with 8 points, while Albania closely follows with 7 points. In another match within the group on Thursday, Poland secured a 2-0 victory over the Faroe Islands, propelling them into third place with 6 points in the standings.
