The Samford women’s tennis team fell to Charleston Southern, 4-0, on Thursday afternoon in a road match.
With the loss, Samford’s overall record dropped to 7-7, while Charleston Southern improved to 9-4 on the season.
Charleston Southern claimed the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. In singles play, the Buccaneers secured the victory with straight-set wins on courts No. 6, No. 4, and No. 1. Three other singles matches remained unfinished when the match was clinched.
Samford now shifts its focus to Southern Conference play, opening league competition against UNC Greensboro on Saturday, March 22. The match is set for a 12 p.m. (CT) start in Greensboro, N.C.
