Raheem Sterling has faced his fair share of critics and has often been left out of Arsenal’s starting lineup under Mikel Arteta this season. However, the experienced forward made a strong statement in Arsenal’s Champions League clash against PSV Eindhoven.
Sterling provided two assists in the first half, helping Arsenal dominate their Dutch opponents with a staggering 9-2 aggregate lead. His performance also cemented his place among England’s top contributors in Champions League history.
With 46 goal involvements—27 goals and 19 assists—Sterling now ranks fourth among English players in the competition. Only David Beckham (52), Harry Kane (50), and Wayne Rooney (47) have more.
Though he was only included in the starting lineup due to Arsenal’s commanding 7-1 advantage from the first leg, Sterling has proven he can still deliver on the biggest stage.
