Dele Alli Joins Struggling Como to Revive Career

Como’s coach, Cesc Fàbregas, expressed confidence in Alli’s potential, stating, “The club believes in Dele’s potential and is committed to helping him rediscover his best form. His experience and leadership qualities will undoubtedly benefit the squad.” The club aims to create a supportive environment for Alli as he reintegrates into competitive football.

Once regarded as one of England’s brightest talents, Alli played a pivotal role in the national team’s journey to the 2018 World Cup semifinals and was a standout player in Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham squad. However, his career has faced significant challenges in recent years, including a six-week rehabilitation stint in the United States to address mental health issues and a battle with sleeping pill addiction. After a season without play at Everton, where his contract expired in June 2024, he hopes to find his footing again at Como, currently sitting 17th in the 20-team Italian league.
