The New Orleans Saints will be missing key players as they face the Green Bay Packers on Monday night, with quarterback Derek Carr and running back Alvin Kamara both ruled out for the game.
The Saints (5-9) announced the decision on Saturday, confirming that Carr will not play due to a left (non-throwing) hand injury sustained during New Orleans’ 14-11 win over the New York Giants on December 8. Spencer Rattler is set to start in Carr’s absence.
Kamara, who exited last Sunday’s 20-19 loss to Washington with a groin injury, has been deemed to have a more serious issue than initially assessed, according to Saints interim coach Darren Rizzi.
On the Packers’ side, linebacker Quay Walker and safety Javon Bullard have also been ruled out due to ankle injuries. Bullard did not participate in Green Bay’s previous game, a 30-13 victory over Seattle.
Additionally, the Packers have several players listed as questionable, including cornerbacks Jaire Alexander (knee) and Corey Ballentine (knee), tight end Luke Musgrave (ankle), and safety Evan Williams (quadriceps).
