Brawley started the CIF D-III Playoffs last week with a 3-1 victory over the Mira Mesa Marauders on Tuesday, winning sets 25-20, 25-16, 24-26, and 25-10. They followed that with a quarterfinal win against Ramona, winning 3-0 with set scores of 25-16, 25-22, and 25-23.

Rubin highlighted the team’s performance, saying, “Mira Mesa came to life in the third set and we had a lull. It’s tough to keep intensity for five games, but the girls came back. On Friday, they had energy and kept it throughout the match with Ramona.”

Brawley is the only team from the CIF-SDS Southeastern Conference to reach the semi-final round, out of seven teams that entered the playoffs. The team is led by five seniors: Lindsey Casey, Kamryn Contreras, Bella Marmolejo, Destyni Perez, and Breauna Rebollar.

Rubin noted the team’s strengths, stating, “We don’t have any weak spots. Everyone contributes, and we have great chemistry. They bond on and off the court and are led by our five seniors who have experience and strong personalities.”

Ticket prices for tonight’s match are set by CIF at $14 for adults (ages 18 and over) and $9 for students and seniors (students ages 5-18, seniors age 60 and over). Tickets are currently available for purchase.
