Kai Cenat Makes Little Basketball Association Debut in Atlanta

Twitch star Kai Cenat took the court for his Little Basketball Association (LBA) debut at Overtime Arena in Atlanta on Saturday. Complete with a draft, a professionally polished court, referees, and an enthusiastic crowd, the newly formed league had all the trappings of a real competition. However, the LBA is a fictional creation, born out of Cenat’s comedic genius and his latest viral skit.

Cenat first introduced the league during his September 27 stream, parodying the NBA draft in which he humorously went from a predicted third-round pick to being drafted last. Known for his elaborate pranks and star-studded streams, the 22-year-old streamer turned his bedroom antics into a full-blown production.

“Standing at an enormous 5’4’’, he’s the head honcho of the New York Sky—Kai Cenat!” the LBA announcer declared, greeted by loud cheers from the audience.

Fans of all ages filled the arena, waving oversized cutouts of Cenat’s head in support. Fellow streamers like Tylil James sat courtside, cheering on the New York Sky. While Cenat was noticeably taller than his young teammates and opponents—an ironic contrast to the NBA’s average height of 6’6’’—the players more than made up for the difference in height with their determination and energy.

The New York Sky faced off against the Dallas Giants in what became an intense back-and-forth battle. The young players showcased their skills, moving up and down the court with speed, executing plays, and scoring points. Meanwhile, Cenat’s performance offered comic relief, as he only managed two points in the first half, living up to his self-imposed last-pick status. Dressed in a dark blue and orange New York Sky jersey, he struggled with missed shots and multiple falls.

Despite his less-than-stellar stats, it was clear that Cenat’s focus was on providing the kids a chance to shine in a fun, semi-professional basketball environment.

In the end, the New York Sky triumphed over the Dallas Giants, winning 53-44, marking a successful launch for the LBA’s fictional, yet thoroughly entertaining, first game.
