On Wednesday, September 25, Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux participated in a celebrity bean bag baseball game at Garden Apartments at The Oaks.
This unique version of baseball uses a cornhole board and bean bags instead of traditional equipment. The event celebrated the Oaks’ Astros team, which recently won the Senior Olympics.
Despite their age, the participants showcased their athleticism. “It’s a very athletic game for the senior adults here. You have to engage nearly all parts of your body to hit a home run,” said Lisa Fredrick, the senior activity coordinator at The Oaks Louisiana.
The bean bag baseball game allows seniors to enjoy the excitement of a sport they love. Mayor Arceneaux expressed his delight in spending time and having fun with the residents.
