Krishna Nagar Exclusive: Para-Shuttler Aims for Second Paralympic Gold

The Indian badminton team’s recent performance in the Paris Olympics was disappointing. For the first time since Beijing 2008, they did not secure a medal. Notable players such as two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen, and the duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty did not reach the podium.

However, hope remains high as another Indian badminton player prepares for a major event in Paris, along with athletes from other disciplines. Krishna Nagar, who won gold at the Tokyo Paralympics three years ago, is one of five Indian gold medallists from that event. He achieved this in his Paralympic debut, alongside Pramod Bhagat, who also clinched gold in a different category.

Nagar has shown impressive form in recent months. His performance in two major events this year suggests that his success in Tokyo was not a one-time achievement. Nagar is now a strong contender for another Paralympic gold medal, aiming to repeat his historic victory.
