Nick Gonzales delivered a walk-off RBI single in the 10th inning, leading the Pittsburgh Pirates to a thrilling 7-6 victory over the visiting San Francisco Giants on Tuesday. The Pirates, trailing 6-2 entering the ninth, mounted a late four-run rally to force extra innings before Gonzales’ heroics.
Gonzales singled up the middle on the first pitch from Erik Miller (0-2), driving in automatic runner Michael A. Taylor from second base to seal the victory.
The Giants had built a 6-2 lead, thanks in part to home runs by Thairo Estrada and Matt Chapman, but their four-game winning streak was snapped by Pittsburgh’s comeback.
In the ninth, with one out and the bases loaded, Ji Hwan Bae singled to bring in a run against Giants closer Camilo Doval. Andrew McCutchen then hit a ground ball that was mishandled by shortstop Marco Luciano, allowing Yasmani Grandal to score from third base. Jared Triolo scored on Bryan Reynolds’ groundout, and Oneil Cruz tied the game with an RBI double to right field. David Bednar (3-3) pitched a scoreless 10th inning to secure the win for the Pirates.

Kyle Tucker hit two home runs and scored the winning run on Jeremy Pena’s walk-off single in the 10th inning, lifting the Houston Astros to a 6-5 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Pena singled off Angels closer Carlos Estevez (0-3) to score Tucker. Josh Hader (3-3) earned the win with two perfect innings of relief.

Bryce Harper’s solo home run and double led the Philadelphia Phillies to a 5-2 victory over the Texas Rangers. Ranger Suarez (9-0) pitched seven strong innings for the Phillies. Alec Bohm, Kyle Schwarber, and J.T. Realmuto each had two hits, with Bohm driving in two runs.

Jose Ramirez and David Fry each hit two-run homers as the Cleveland Guardians held off the New York Mets for a 7-6 win, their fifth straight. Emmanuel Clase earned his 15th save. Nick Sandlin (4-0) got the win in relief.

Christian Yelich’s two-run triple in the eighth inning helped the Milwaukee Brewers to a 7-5 win over the Miami Marlins. William Contreras had three RBIs, and Tobias Myers (1-2) earned his first major league win.

Joe Ryan pitched seven shutout innings, and Byron Buxton hit two of Minnesota’s four home runs in a 10-0 rout of the Washington Nationals. Ryan (3-3) allowed three hits and two walks while striking out six.

Boston scored three runs over the eighth and ninth innings to defeat the Tampa Bay Rays 5-2. Jarren Duran and Reese McGuire homered for the Red Sox.

Dylan Moore hit two home runs and drove in four runs as the Seattle Mariners beat the New York Yankees 6-3. Bryan Woo pitched six scoreless innings for the Mariners.

Garrett Crochet pitched six scoreless innings, leading the Chicago White Sox to a 5-0 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. Corey Julks and Danny Mendick each had two RBIs.
